Documents With References

I have found many documents referencing JAW’s work in the Charleston area. A Google search of “J.A.W. Iusti” will yield a lot of the same Google books data. Some I collected from the archives in Charleston, SC and from a visit to St. Michaels. These are available as PDF downloads before the gallery at the end of this post.

Photos of the Gates and Cemetery

In the photo gallery below I highlight images at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery where JAW Iusti is buried. In addition I have various photographs I took at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Charleston. These photos show the gates wrought by Iusti as well as a family cemetery gate. These are all mentioned in the various documents and books I posted above.

In the time that I have owned iPods and iPhone I have purchased and used many FM transmitters from different manufacturers. Each time I received roughly the same result of low volume and sound quality (Griffin, Belkin, Kensington, others). I recently purchased the TomTom iPhone app and wanted a good solution for an FM transmitter and a device that would hold my iPhone in clear view for GPS and to easily change stations. To my delight I ran across the Canada Drive Safe site and their COMPLETE iPhone FM Transmitter. I have included a video review of the device below on YouTube. This device blows all the other FM transmitters I have owned out of the water – totally in a class of its own. If you are in the market be sure to check them out at http://www.canadadrivesafe.ca/

On my truck the fitting going into tank side of the filter was different than in the article. Mine had a colored plastic piece that was flush with the rest of the fitting. I used a small screwdriver and pushed inward on the colored piece and pull back on the line at the same time to release it.

We went to the Simpsonville Labor Day festival downtown today and had a great time. We didn’t get there until about 11:30 am but beat the registration deadline for the car show. It was a long day in the sun and Mandy was great and got some cool tshirts for us and watched my car. Chic-fil-a was there so we were able to eat that for lunch. I found out after the judging was over later tonight that there were several things I should have had to get a better judgment on my car, for example a fire extinguisher and a different battery. I spent the evening tearing down my carburetor and pulling the plugs to see what may have been my sputtering problem in the Belair on the way home. I didn’t get finished putting it all back together til late so I’ll have to do my testing tomorrow. All in all is was a good day we are just toasty burned from all the sun

I have been using Midomi for some time now on my iPhone and have found it to be a useful tool. I’m still using FM radio in my truck and find it a great way to hear new music and a large variety of music since I scan around the stations. My new best friend for long trips is Midomi. This neat little application will record audio input or take text input and supply a list of suggested song matches. You can grab a song from the radio, sing or hum a tune, or enter part of the lyrics. 99.9% of the time I use the grab function to simply identify a song I’ve found on the radio and then bookmark it to download on iTunes later when I get back home. I’ve built some cool CDs this way and it has been a great way to extend my music collection and listening genre. I know there’s a couple other similar iPhone apps so post your thoughts on this and competing tools. You can find Midomi on the App Store …. just search for it by name.
